Inserting
a Pertersham During the fitting, put a !" wide grosgrain ribbon at the waist and pin in place. Transfer placement of bottom edge of ribbon to lining. (Petersham may be used, but is not readily available in fabric stores.) |

Petersham Place grosgrain at the placement marks on the lining. Tack in place at each boned seam, pulling the ribbon snug from one seam to the next. |

Petersham End grosgrain at the back princess seams. Attach non-roll elastic to the ribbon and finish 1"-2" from center back with waist hook and eye. Adding the elastic allows the bride to be a little more comfortable, while still keeping the gown securely in place. |
